Career Paths & Fully-Funded Qualifications
Your career at Seren doesn't end at "Carer." We invest in our team with funded qualifications, structured progression, and the genuine opportunity to grow into senior, specialist, and management roles.
Qualifications We Pay For
Every qualification is funded by Seren — no cost to you. We work with accredited providers across Wales to deliver:
- The Care Certificate — your foundation in care, completed in your first weeks
- QCF Levels 2, 3, 4 & 5 — formal qualifications recognised across the UK
- Specialist training — dementia, end-of-life, complex care, mental health, learning disabilities
- Mandatory refreshers — manual handling, medication, safeguarding, infection control
- Leadership development — for those moving into supervisory and management roles
Real Progression, Real People
Many of our team leaders, coordinators, and managers started as care assistants — some with zero experience when they joined. We promote from within wherever we can.
When you join Seren, your line manager will help you set goals, identify training opportunities, and map out your route forward. There's no "you've gone as far as you can go" here.
"I started as a carer with no qualifications. Five years on, I'm a Team Leader — Seren paid for every step of my training."
